- San Felipe

Introduction

San Felipe combines the magic of a small, hospitable fishing village with the unbeatable scenery of the Sea of Cortez. Here, a morning walk along the malecon (seaside promenade) features flocks of seagulls or pelicans. Just 20 minutes away is Valle de los Gigantes, home to thousand-year-old cacti more than 55 feet tall and protected by imposing rock formations.

Located 121 miles from Mexicali, San Felipe is also a place for adventure. On beaches and dunes, a 4x4 vehicle can be your greatest ally in communing with nature, or you can take a motorboat tour, kayak, fish, or embark on expeditions through desert to explore cave paintings and admire the impressive San Pedro Martir mountains.

For those who like camping, this is the perfect place as there are close to 20 campsites facing beautiful desert beaches to the north and south of town.
